World Dance V by Poppy Dully -SOLD!

World Dance V is the fifth in series of small, unique books that portray dancers around the globe. I am interested in the beauty and drama of dance and its universal application. In our turbulent world, dance keeps us alive and human. In World Dance V, I scanned and printed vintage maps onto Entrada Rag Natural 190. I created ten monotypes of dancers with oil-based ink which I printed onto the map prints. The dancers express the poetry and balance that we need in our world today. The maps add color and historical references to changing political geography. The monotype prints are fastened accordion style onto BFK Rives paper to create a feeling of movement and flow. I constructed a simple book cover with a monotype of dancers on a map fixed onto BFK Rives paper.
