Cast concrete block contains five altered books behind glass. Outside of concrete block is collaged with torn book pages and coated with encaustic. Linda tells us: "The artist books emanate from a true love of books. The tangible and visual experience of opening a book is a constant source of desire. Each book is created as a unique. A series may unfold, but within are individual pieces. Primarily focused on visual texture, color and composition, threads of storyline appear in unexpected ways. The books are quite tactile and are meant to be experienced. The new series of books is a response to the constant bombardment of fractured images and emotions of the past that seem to be interrupting present thought on a daily basis. The employment of collage mimics this random fusion of visions. By restructuring the fragments a new story is created."
