The photographs in Under Construction were shot over a period of six years, in a variety of countries including Canada, the USA, Iran, Germany, Mexico, Turkey and Cambodia. I am interested in the way construction sites transform the urban landscape. The book contains an original poem exploring the ambiguity inherent in change. As a photographer, the abstract qualities of squares of colored tarps and lines of rebar appeals to my collage style aesthetic sensibility.
