TRAVERSE chronicles a family vacation through California, Idaho and Wyoming by presenting names of destinations explored and mountain trails hiked. It uniquely engages the form of the book by allowing the content to straddle the mountains and meander through the valleys of the accordion structure.
Artist Bio
Peter Bushell is a Graphic Design Professor in the School of Art at Illinois State University, and an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His 25 years of teaching graphic design and typography inform his current explorations with artist's books. Combining letterforms and books is one of his specialties, but regardless of the subject matter explored, he strives to find the right marriage of concept, content and form. Both his design work and artist's books have garnered awards and recognition regionally, nationally and internationally.
