Artist Bio

I was born in England in 1965 and lived there until moving to oregon in 1992. I developed an interest in lettering through my grandfather, who was a calligrapher, and then began to study more intensively when I came to Oregon. This eventually led me to discover lapidary lettering in the late 90's and I have been carving ever since, at first in a formal, more traditional way and then gradually seeking a different kind of expression when I began to explore how the art of lettering in stone could convey inner experience. I still reside in rural Oregon, on a farm near Aurora.
