I was inspired by the Hannah Senesh story who parachuted behind Nazi lines during WWII in an attempt to save Hungarian Jews. She was captured and executed by the Nazis at the age of 23. During her short life she wrote many poems of which this one is the most well known.

Artist Bio

Drora Kopernik is an Israeli born artist who grew-up in a Kibbutz. She holds a Batchelor Degree in Fine Arts and for the last 25 years she has been working with mixed media which includes Hebrew and English Calligraphy, Book-Binding and paper Arts. She is a member of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective (CCC), attended several national Calligraphic conferences and took numerous workshops.
