Macbeth is one of the many plays featured in the Riverside Literature Series. This play has the markings and hand-written notes of the reader. I love to restructure a piece of literature, altering the way it is viewed and read. The Riverside Series featured over 200 volumes, mostly works of fiction and poetry. Macbeth is #106. The number now appears on the inside front cover. Today, this series is considered collectable.
A one-of-a-kind altered book by Linda Welch, who tells us: “My artist books emanate from a true love of books. The tangible and visual experience of opening a book is a constant source of desire. Each book is created as a unique. A series may unfold, but within are individual pieces. Primarily focused on visual texture, color and composition, threads of storyline appear in unexpected ways. The books are quite tactile and are meant to be experienced. The new series of books is a response to the constant bombardment of fractured images and emotions of the past that seem to be interrupting present thought on a daily basis. The employment of collage mimics this random fusion of visions. By restructuring the fragments a new story is created
