Heredity by Ginger Burrell

Heredity explores the concepts of genetic and learned traits within a family. From the obviously inherited, such as eye and hair color, to those traits which may be more nurture than nature—being a gardener, interrupting, or enjoying art. Imagined as one in a series of notebooks, as an obsessive cataloguing of family characteristics, Heredity is book number 14 in a series of notebooks that obsessively catalogue family characteristics. Included are color-coded family tree charts and original stream of consciousness poetry, written as the author recalls each family trait. And, as with any notebook in progress, this one includes notes and photos clipped in: some as reminders and some as illustrations of the specified feature.
