For a long weekend in September of 2010 we engaged in Cultural Spectacle Investigation (CSI) in the iconic landscape of Las Vegas, Nevada. We chose the CSI approach because this is how we entertain ourselves and it helps us to better understand a place. The CSI concept focuses our visual attention. What might ordinarily be momentary reflections on the unusual, the odd, the visually enticing, becomes an aspect of the hunt. These images were all taken with either our cell phones or our untrusty point and shoot. Bringing these memories together in book format invigorates our appreciation for the diversity of human culture which is richly expressed as spectacle in this sparkling city of sin.
