Cool Valley by Colin Frazer

$950.00 - Please contact 23 Sandy for current availability.
This editioned artists book investigates the role of land as an archive, and the translation of site to non-site. Cool Valley is an ongoing project where I document pieces of land as books. The books in this series contain interviews, photographs, historical documents, maps, and the deed to a unique small parcel of land in a failed development in Colorado. Collectors of the book own a piece of American land, and also the obligation to pay the $4 in taxes a year it takes to maintain the rights to it. The proceeds from each book are used to purchase more land in this historic failed development. The edition is complete when the entire development is purchased, turned into books and entered into the archive, thus preserving this tract of land for the public good.
