Jim Parkinson has been happily designing letterforms for more than 50 years and will celebrate his 75th birthday this year. One side of this slippery-slinky accordion has 75 portraits of Jim from his infancy up to the present. On the reverse side, a long string of "cigar bands" carries a rhyming text of 75 words (each pop-up has a different capital letter from one of his display faces) to celebrate some of the many typefaces he has designed in his long career. I have been with Jim for only a tenth of his long life and hope that he will find this funny book a fitting tribute and something to make him keep smiling.
