Love Between the Pages

Love Between the Pages

We’re back! And very happy to reopen the gallery after a lovely winter break. It’s always amazing how needed that break really is, but by the end of the month it always feels good to get back to the regular routine. Usually January involves either plenty of travel or a big gallery project. This year it was a bit of both, with some quality studio time thrown in for good measure.

To celebrate February we are featuring our Love Between the Pages Curated Collection of artist books and broadsides to celebrate love, lust, innocence, passion and desire. Whether you are just dating and searching for love (Sarah Smith’s Should Cards), or dreaming of a secret romance in Paris (Amandine Nabarra-Piomelli's Secret Love, shown above), or madly passionately in love (Alicia Bailey’s Random Passions and other erotic beauties), or even marking the end of love, we’ve got a book for you (Barb Tetenbaum or Susan Lowdermilk).

Thirst_1000wOne very special book to consider this month features the beautiful words of Oregon Poet Laureate Paulann Petersen. The poems collected in Dark River of Stars were gifts the poet sent out each Valentine’s Day to friends and family over a period of nine years.

New to the gallery this month is Book of Hearts by Marian Crane. Her “non-verbal Valentine of geometric and botanical hearts” is an intimate one-of-a-kind book made with wooden pages, burned heart designs and vibrant red tassels and beads.

darcy3Maybe you have more unattainable desires, for say, a certain Mr. Darcy? Laura Davidson’s book, My Mr. Darcy is a tribute to the many actors who have played the role of Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice adaptations. It includes miniature portraits of six actors paired with the character’s sweet and stumbling professions of love.

Since this email comes with a very tight holiday deadline (a week from today!) we will ship any order from this curated collection via USPS Priority Mail and 23 Sandy will pick up the extra shipping costs over the usual slow boat shipping. All orders received by Monday, or even Tuesday will ship the same day and should arrive in time for that special Valentine’s Day event. (Cross your fingers the weather cooperates!)

Stop by the gallery soon if you need a gift for that special someone.
