Today's holiday Gifty Pick is the perfect gift for the love in your life. It's a very sweet miniature book, Love is Everlasting, by Peter & Donna Thomas. The text is an old Hawaiian proverb written in both Hawaiian and English, “Love is worn like a wreath through the summers and the winters, love is everlasting.” This very mini miniature book was first painted by Donna then color copied onto Peter’s handmade paper and then accordion bound between covers that are wrapped with Hawaiian tapa cloth, a traditional cloth-like material made by pounding the inner bark of the mulberry tree. A paper label, like a cigar band, holds the book together. At not much larger than a penny, this book is a treasure.
