Gifty Picks - Day 12 - Field Trip by Karen Kunc
Today's holiday Gifty Pick is by letterpress innovator Karen Kunc. I am a HUGE fan of her work—she has a refreshingly original style using letterpress techniques that are result in gorgeous, layered, beautiful prints. Karen, who lives in Nebraska, is both an accomplished, widely-exhibited book artist and respected print maker.
Field Trip has been a lovely book to show off over the years, and I currently have only two copies left before the edition is totally sold out. This colorful, offset printed, die cut accordion is beautiful on both sides and looks great spread out long or viewed page by page. Hidden in the back is another small accordion letterpress printed poem on Japanese paper.
