Alex Appella is our featured book artist in May and, as you may remember, the Purchase Prize winner from last year’s Secrets and Lies show here in the gallery. Visiting from home in Argentina, Alex (a native of Salem, Oregon) and her husband operate Transient Books. This dynamic duo will teach a hands-on, one-one evening workshop where you will learn the basics of bookbinding so you can experience the fun of self-publishing. This introductory workshop will give you the tools to turn your writings, journals, poems, zines, collage, photographs, or artwork of any kind into a bound edition.
