Artist Bio
Linda Piacentini-Yaple, a published poet and artist from the Los Angeles area, created her first book about Alaska at the age of eight. Serious art study began in Europe with a concentration in medieval manuscripts and studied calligraphy and graphic design in Los Angeles. She is a continuing member of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators and the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society, in London. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, she studied bookmaking at Oregon College of Art and Craft. Exhibits include: Geisel Library, UCSD, CA; Weiner Library, London, England; Tweed River Art Gallery, New South Wales Australia; Bank Street Arts, Sheffield, England, Abecedarian Gallery, Denver, CO; Reed College Library, Portland; Cannon Beach Gallery, Cannon Beach; Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Exhibit, British Library Conference Center, London; Columbia City Gallery, Seattle; 23 Sandy Gallery, Centrum Gallery and Hoffman Gallery in Portland; Linfield College Fine Art Gallery, McMinnville; Society of Scribes and Illuminators Annual Exhibit, London; Atelier 6000, Bend, OR.
