This work was inspired by a family friend Anne Clark, who, along with her husband taught dance in St. Louis in the first half of the 20th century. Betty Grable was one of her students. When Anne died I bought boxes of photos from her dance studio. The advertisements, postcards and photos of dancers were very inspiring. This is my tribute to her and her students. The little Haiku are expressions of the spirit of dance.
