I am submitting this work in response to the atrocities committed in Paris on November 13, 2016. I feel its message of love, composed entirely of arabesque ornaments, highlights the cultural interconnection between West and East. The design of the ornaments is of sixteenth century origin; possibly by Robert Granjon and Guillaume Rouill of Lyon and were an interpretation of islamic influences which filtered into Europe during the Renaissance along with those from China, India and elsewhere.
