Juxtaposition is a unique altered book inspired by the Exquisite Corpse game, in which a player draws part of a figure without being able to see what the prior player has drawn. The original book, a child's "mix & match" picture book about dinosaurs, has been completely altered with spray paint and paper collage to create a series of mysterious characters. Each page is cut into three, flippable panels, and a three-word description accompanies each character. The book is interactive and as the reader flips the panels to mix and match the pages, different characters are created and the description changes. Deeper truths about the human condition are revealed ... or maybe it's just fun to flip pages.

Artist Bio

After retiring from the practice of law in 2008, Lynn began making artist's books and small works on paper. Old-style cut & paste collage has been and remains a favorite medium, and she frequently also incorporates sewing techniques, thread, fabric, metal, wood and other materials into her pieces. There's always a story with a little bit of mystery to it, and Lynn's goal is always to startle, amuse or provoke.
