23 Sandy is pleased to present this stunning new edition featuring poems by Michael Dickman and Matthew Dickman, monotypes by Keith Achepohl, printing and design by Sandy Tilcock. This sumptuous collaborative work features ten deeply felt and personal poems, five each, from two highly-regarded twin-brother poets written in memory of their brother Darin Hull, who lost his life to a drug overdose. The poems are paired with velvety black photogravures reproduced from original trace monotypes by Keith Achepohl. The pages are presented as unbound individual tri-fold folios measuring 13.375 x 8.75 inches closed, opening out to 13.375 x 26 inches, all enclosed in an chemise and clamshell box. This rich new book is a tour de force by long-respected master letterpress printer and bookbinder Sandy Tilcock from Eugene, Oregon. Sandy has designed and printed letterpress books and broadsides featuring writers such as Barry Lopez, Robert Bly, William Stafford and Terry Tempest Williams. Her work has been recognized for its imaginative designs and perfect craftsmanship. Since 1989 lone goose press has published an impressive roster of books and broadsides. Sandy was also the Founding Director of Knight Library Press at the University of Oregon in 1999, and served in that position for seven years while continuing to occasionally publish under her own imprint. Her achievements have brought her great renown in the field of fine press publishing, mostly due to her unique approach to collaborative projects. As she once wrote, "collaboration is an important aspect of the endeavor, with author, artist, and printer working in a spirit of mutual support. With each turn of the crank, new and old, art and idea, individual creativity and shared vision come together freshly on the page."
