Imagine being a medical student in the 1950’s where the Merck Manual was the reference volume you used most. Two thousand plus pages of tissue thin paper and tiny type. After leafing through this, I understood why med school had never been a part of my life. However, I was enchanted by the possibility of changing the look to a softer, less clinical appearance. This altered version reminds me more of an Elizabethan ruff than a source for finding an arsenic antidote.
