My new favorite creative inspiration is “Super-Cool Fold of the Week” from Trish Witkowski at FoldFactory.com. The web site is geared toward commercial designers, but book artists can learn a lot about design, print production and clever folding ideas that translate very well into book arts. I subscribe to their weekly email and get notified whenever a new fold is posted on YouTube. Check it out here.
This post brought a smile because it made me think of Hedi Kyle, who recently told me her book is in progress. Her deadline for the text was last month, so keep your fingers crossed for a fast release! I remember very well Hedi’s talk at a conference 10 or so years ago when she talked about how she folds stacks of paper while watching television at night, trying to invent new folds. What a great way to keep the creative juices flowing.
