My artwork has always been driven by my personal experiences. It feeds on my emotions and thoughts; it feeds on my life.
The Images are dark and grainy, intimate and close. The light comes from behind, exposes dirty hands digging deeper and deeper. The sequence unfolds in front of your eyes. The objects are the evidence of the past.
The lens sees inside and out. It is a witness to the process of change.Artist Biography
Kate Kaznowska was born in Warsaw, Poland; she has lived in the United States since the early nineties. Kate studied art and photography at Eastern Oregon University, Cardiff University in UK, Pacific Northwest Collage of Art, and Portland Community College. Her professional career has evolved around art, photography and publishing. Kaznowska has worked for a variety of fashion and news magazines in Europe and in the United States. She has been an active supporter of the art community in Warsaw and in Portland. Kaznowska has been involved with the Polish Society of Art Photographers, Newsweek International, Blue Sky Gallery, PICA, Photo Americas, PhotoLucida and Critical Mass. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Europe and the Northwest.
