Artist Statement

This book is a typographic exploration of The Story of O. The book is printed on translucent vellum paper with subsequent pages visible to the viewer, creating an ever-changing typographic pattern on the left and right side of the spreads. As the reader turns the pages of the book, the letter O increases in size, reaching a “climax” at the end.

The shape of the letter O in its various iterations: serif, sans serif, regular, bold, script, upper and lowercase combined with the color and feel of the paper accentuate the sensuousness of the book itself.
